Roadpost's Satellite Solutions Help Connect Ministry Staff in
Remote Locations
Toronto, ON (April 14, 2008) – Roadpost Inc., a leader in satellite
communications solutions for global use, has been selected in a competitive bid
awarded through the Ontario provincial government's Land and Resources I&IT
Cluster (LRC). Roadpost is supplying Iridium satellite network access, as well
as hardware including multi-channel fixed terminals, in-vehicle kits and mobile
handsets.
These satellite communications systems will be used by clients of the LRC
including the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), the Ministry of Northern
Development and Mines (MNDM), the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and
Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) and the Ministry
of Aboriginal Affairs (MAA). The main use of satellite telephones is to ensure
that the various Ministry staff can maintain communications in the field when
working in remote locations.
"This solution is a good example of the importance of satellite as part of a
complete communications strategy. There are still huge areas of our country
that lack cellular coverage and this solution will enable Ministry staff to
remain safe, productive, and connected no matter where they go," said Morris
Shawn, President and CEO of Roadpost. "Roadpost is committed to working with
Ministry staff to ensure that they can get the maximum value from this
solution."
