Iridium service provider eliminates purchasing risk for
satellite phone customers
TORONTO, ON (February 21, 2007) -- Roadpost Inc., a leader in global satellite
voice and data communications, announced today an industry exclusive extension
on the Iridium Network Quality Guarantee. Announced February 15, 2007, the
Iridium Network Quality Guarantee promises credits of up to 100 minutes of
airtime, as well as three months free subscription fees, if the Iridium network
fails to complete properly initiated voice calls from customers’ new Iridium
handsets. As an Iridium service provider, Roadpost is extending the guarantee
to include a full refund of the customer’s handset purchase price.
"As an Iridium service provider, Roadpost has always gone to great lengths
to introduce innovative, customer-centric programs," said Greg Ewert,
Executive Vice President for Iridium Satellite. "Now, Roadpost is
reaffirming its commitment to customer service by supporting the Iridium
Network Quality Guarantee and extending it with its own guarantee on the
handset purchase."
Roadpost chose to support and extend the Iridium guarantee in an effort to
provide the highest level of service to customers. Emergency first responders
and organizations with workforces operating outside the reach of cellular
networks face a potentially high risk if employees are unable to complete
calls. The same is true for some recreational users like boaters or hikers. To
operate safely, they depend on Roadpost to provide reliable equipment,
tailor-made programs and 24 hour customer support.
"By guaranteeing the customer’s Iridium handset purchase along with the
Iridium network guarantee, Roadpost eliminates virtually all of the customer’s
purchase risk," said Morris Shawn, President and CEO of Roadpost.
"Roadpost is the only Iridium service provider offering to back up
Iridium’s network guarantee with a refund on the customer’s Iridium phone
purchase if they are not satisfied."
If a customer is dissatisfied with the quality of Iridium’s network service
within the first 90 days of service activation, the customer can submit a claim
through Roadpost as their service provider. Valid claims will receive the
airtime credits and free subscription fees offered in the Iridium guarantee,
along with a refund from Roadpost on the purchase price of the handset.
